Xu Kunlin, the governor of Jiangsu Province, met in Nanjing on Tuesday afternoon with the visiting delegation of African envoys to China.

Xu Kunlin extended a warm welcome to the delegation of African envoys to China before briefing the guess on the province’s economic and social development.

He said that in recent years, under the guidance of President Xi Jinping"s concept of genuine, friendly, and sincere policies towards Africa, as well as the correct concept of righteousness and interests, the development of Jiangsu-Africa relations has entered a "fast lane".

Noting that this year marks the 10th anniversary of the initiative of jointly building "the Belt and Road", Xu Kunling said that at a new historical starting point, Jiangsu looks forward to working together with African envoys to actively implement the outcomes of the Forum on China–Africa Cooperation meeting under the guidance of the China-Africa comprehensive strategic partnership and the deployment of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to jointly promote the implementation of the "nine projects", to further strengthen the construction of communication platforms, deepen economic and trade cooperation, and enrich the connotation of people-to-people exchanges so as to achieve win-win cooperation and shared development at a higher level.

The governor hoped that the African envoys to China will make more efforts to promote Jiangsu so as to make greater contributions to building a closer community with a shared future between China and Africa in the new era.

Abdullah Miguil, Djibouti"sambassador to China, and head of the delegation, and envoys of other African countries to China congratulated Jiangsu on the significant achievements made in economic and social development.

The African diplomatic envoys expressed that Africa is willing to work with Jiangsu to enhance mutual understanding, participate in cooperation, and deepen exchanges in various fields such as economy, trade, education, health, culture, and promote the in-depth development of the Africa-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.

The African envoys to China come from Nigeria, Mozambique, Angola, Sao Tome and Principe, Mauritius, Botswana, Chad, Comoros, Republic of Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guinea, Lesotho, Niger, Seychelles, Uganda, Burkina Faso, Central Africa, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Togo, Libya, South Africa, South Sudan, Zambia, Algeria, Egypt, Madagascar Sudan, Kenya, and Namibia.
